Blake is still too little to do much more than hitch a ride. January 31, 2020 On the A2 highway in Spain, the family and I traveled across the highway from Madrid toward Barcelona. I am in awe of the countryside as I focus on land I have never seen before. It’s as if I’m reborn and seeing a world that, no pun intended, is foreign to me. The scenery is vast swaths of land littered with mountains and cliffs, and, of course, shapes of Toros (Bulls to you and I) loom large on the summit tops. Clouds lay thick in the valley while we traveled above it as if we were in an airplane at 36,000 feet. My mind wanders about. My family conversation is controlled chaos, and they discuss things like music, games, or activities. But I can block it all out and imagine the history that could be told about th...

I’m sure you’ll see that from many online friends while scrolling through your timeline on Twitter or seeing it plastered on your Facebook wall leading up to the new year, 2020.  But I can honestly say that whatever inspirational quotes I see on a social media platform or Peloton ad shoved down my throat, you’ll always have the same ole me.   New day, new month, and new decade. I’m the same ole me.  Don’t get me wrong and think that by declaring that I’m the same ole me, I have stopped growing and evolving and have not learned from my past mistakes or hard lessons. I’m just declaring that I can change my attitude, body, and mind, but I’m the same old me at my core.  As 2019 closes and the last decade finds its place in the history books, I would love to have a better decade this time....
