Movies for my Boys

Dear reader,

 This is just to document the movies I saw with their mom. It was fun to write and reminisce and for them to view someday.

For my Boys


This is dedicated to my boys to document some of our movies their mom and I saw.


Your mom loves movies Mimie, favorite movie of all time is Pretty in Pink. I didn’t know what the hell a Ducky was until she had me watch it. Nico, mommy wanted to name you Blain after Andrew McCarthy’s character. I was stuck on Rocco and well in the end she named you Nico (Steven Segal from Above the Law eat your heart out).

We liked to watch She’s Out of My League ( She Loved the Hall and Oates cover band).

And loved 80’s Hot Tub Time Machine (John Cusak, nuff said).

I Love You, Man. She really warmed up to.
We once walked out of a movie called Epic Moive. She recently saw the Lincoln Lawyers on Netflix and really liked it.

She made me watch Some Like it Hot! And she laughed!

The Client and The Firm. A few Good Men, she loved her court room drama.

The last movie she saw was on March 12,2012 and it was The Artist. She said she really liked it and that Jean Dujardin deserved the Oscar for Best Actor in a Motion Picture. Although she also said watching a silent movie sucked because her could here the guy behind her chewing like a @#$! Pig!

She like Jack Nicholson in As Good As it Gets. She liked Jack Nicholson, period.

She saw Scott Pilgram vs. The World and thought it was just okay.

We saw Zombieland together and loved it. The great thing about that movie was we knew nothing about it when we went to see it. Don’t you love when that happens?

On our anniversary, August 9, 2011 we had a great dinner at The Grand Lux and went and saw Planet of the Apes the new one with James Franco. We both really liked it. We held hands on the way out and talked about it. That was always the best part.

She always thought Waterworld didn’t get enough credit.

She loved James Cameron’s Titanic. what girld didn't?

Another great movie with a water scene that we all love was The Goonies! “Man you smell like physed!”- Chunk.

We saw the first Pirates of the Caribbean together. She wasn’t too fond of it.

We saw the Lord of the Rings trilogy together and enjoyed it.

We watched the Phantom Menace together, she really liked Star Wars.

Sleepy Hollow with papa (my dad).

She likes Black Swan.

She absolutely loves Knocked Up, 40 Year Old Virgin, Super Bad, Talladega Nights the Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Bridesmaids, Step Brothers. She thought Forgetting Sarah Marshall was just okay and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, “You will eat that cat poop!” She recently saw Wanderlust and was not a big fan. (sorry Judd).

She had recently saw Just Go with It and really liked it.

She loved, loved, loved The Wedding Singer, “He’s losing his mind…”

We both like Chuck and Larry.

Deuce Bigalow, “Manwhore.”

She thought 50 first dates was okay, I liked it more.

We both like Anger Management. But hated Mr. Deeds.
We laughed hard at the old man on Billy Madison, “Doooon’t tell me my business devil woman!”

And of course Big daddy, “I wipe my own ass.”

The Waterboy.

The Cable Guy, “They were Asian and they spoke a different language it was, Asian.” I guess it is fair to say we like Adam Sandler.

Mimie loves There's Something about Mary.

While I was in boot camp she told me to see Mel Gibson in Payback which I thought it was okay.

She liked the Pelican Brief and Conspiracy Theory .

We saw Paranormal Activity Part 2 together in her home town of Denver.

She didn't like the Blair Witch Project. She wasn’t much into horror movies.

She likes The Naked Gun.

Loved Good Will Hunting.

Mimie thought Goodfellas was the best! She owned it on VHS tape and always claimed Aunt Kim borrowed it and never gave it back.

She likes Boogie Nights, “Feel, feel, feel, feel the heat.”

We saw Chicago together, the movie.

We saw The Producers live on Broadway in New York and she loves The Phantom of the Opera, the movie.

She loves John Cusack and his classic 80's movies. Sixteen Candles, Better of Dead "I want my 2 dollars!"

Stand by Me although she like the book The Body better. Isn’t that always the way.

Mimie recently saw The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

She read Lovely Bones but hated the movie.

She liked the Hannibal Lector series. Silence of the Lambs etc.

We saw A Beautiful Mind together.

She really liked Bridget Jones Diary.

She enjoyed Legally Blonde and Election.

We saw The Mexican together and Oceans Eleven.

We went and saw Training Day with Denzel Washington. She really thought he was the best villan.

She saw The Wedding Planner. "You saved my shoe."

We saw Unfaithful and What Lies Beneath.

Mimie saw the Sixth Sense with Dawn and Randy in which Randy spoiled the ending of it. She was so mad! Towards the end of the movie it was about to be reveled Randy said (SPOLIER ALERT) “Oh, hes dead.” She was so mad.

We saw Minority Report.

We went to all the Bourne Identity films together.

We also saw Signs.

We went to see About Schmidt. And Catch Me if You Can.

She loves, loves, loves Best in Show! "A terrier".

We saw the Italian Job.

Mimie loves the Scary Movie franchise.

We like the first Matrix only and thought the technology was amazing.

We saw Troy and thought Orlando bloom was such a wuss!

She liked Dodge Ball: A True Underdog Story. “What’s a taint? I don’t know but it don’t sound good.”

Ben Stiller is great but she didn’t like Night at the Museum but loved all the Meet the Parents series, Fockers, Little Fockers. She loves Along Came Polly, thought The Heart Break Kid was so-so. She loved the beginning and the dancing end of Tom Cruise in Tropical Thunder.

We love Starsky and Hutch, “Disco Dave!”

We saw Collateral together, she loves it.

We saw the Devil Wears Prada together. She loved the book more but also liked the movie.

Julia and Julia. 

We saw Sideways and she liked it. "I went deep" haha. Our joke.

We went and saw The War of the Worlds together.

We Ioved Just Friends! And watched it every time it’s on television.

She saw the Last Holiday.

Uncle Daniel tried to get us to watch Nanny McPhee. But they went and Saw Sex in the City 2. She liked the first one the most.

We went and saw Flight 93.

Bowling for Columbine.

She loved and we saw the Break- Up and Couples Retreat and Four Christmases.

She loves Road Trip! We can watch that anytime.

She likes Little Miss Sunshine.

We saw World Trade Center and Ladder 49 together.

We saw the Bucket List together (sad).

She loves A Christmas Story and Elf! "The yellow ones don't stop."

We saw 1408. Scary!

She likes the Twilight Series. What girl doesn’t? She thought part 2 was just okay.

She liked Slum Dog Millionaire.

We didn't like The Incredible Hulk.

She liked Benjamin Buttons.

We saw The Rock together.

She enjoyed Unstoppable.

She liked Eat. Love, and Pray. A recommendation from Aunt Tina.

She likes The Bounty Hunter. Gerard again.

Knight and Day and Get him to the Greek!

She thought Mission Impossible Ghost Protocal was okay. She likes the first Mission Impossible lots! She really likes The Help.

The last movie her and I saw together was Money Ball, we liked it.

She liked Contagion.

She thought Step Mom was sad.

We saw City of Angels together and hated the ending.

We saw Lost in Space but we didn't like it.

We saw American Beauty and Runaway Bride.

We saw Any Given Sunday and laughed because these people walked in, in the middle of the movie and it was packed. It was a full house and they had more than a few little kids with them.I whispered to her, “Where are they going to sit? It's packed” They just stood there in front of everyone. Then all of a sudden there was a locker room scene where this large black football man was standing with his penis hanging out and it looked 20 feet long on the large movie screen. They ran out of the theater. We laughed so hard!

She likes Grease and Swordfish.

In Colorado Uncle Augustine made us watch Galaxy Quest on DVD at his and Aunt Holly's house. I liked it. She did not!

She saw Thomas Crowne Affair but didn't like it.

We saw End of Days in the theatre and Wild, Wild West we didn't like it.

We saw Life. I didn't like it.

She Thought Eyes wide Shut was so-so and we saw Vanilla Sky. I hated it. She liked it.

We both liked Malice. She did not like Far and Away.

She did like Mean Girls and Date Night.

We watched Easy A together on pay per view.

We both liked Cast Away and The Fugitive with Harrison Ford. We thought both catastrophe scenes were amazing!

We saw What Women Want together and Gladiator.

She liked Erin Brockovich.
We saw Traffic together. It was okay.

She dragged me to Miss Congeniality.

We saw and laughed at Me, Myself and Irene. “Vagicille”

We watched the Whole 9 yards and O’ Brother Where Art Thou on VHS long distance.

We watched Ali together and Man on the Moon. She likes Ace Ventura. We watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding in theaters.

We saw the Sum of all Fears. Then the funny thing is we went to go see another movie later that week but I forget which it was, so we went to Muvico 20 in West Palm Beach. I looked at our movie stub and I thought it said theater 20. So we sat down and the movie started. I looked at her and said this movie is starting just like how the Sum of all Fears did. Then I realized that what I thought what read “Theater 20” was not the case it was just stating “Muvico Theater 20 Movies”. We were in the wrong theater. Theater 20 just by coincidence happened to be the Sum of All Fears. We laughed about it for a long time afterwards.

We watched Road to Perdition together.

She liked 8 Miles (by Ron Howard imagine studios!).

We both thought John Q was okay. And Insomnia was too long and boring.

About Schmidt was okay.

She loved Bad Boys and liked part 2.

We saw The Last Samurai in which we thought it was okay.
We saw Cold Mountain and agreed the ending sucked we went to see Mystic River.

We saw Gothika. There is a scene where Haley Berry kisses Charles S. Dutton. The whole theater cringed and moaned. It was gross. We talked about that all the time haha.

We saw day After Tomorrow. I liked it more than her. She liked Deep Impact and Armageddon.
We both liked Lemony Snickets. The Aviator which was very long and Catch Me if you Can. E.T. is a classic. We saw Million Dollar Baby but it was sad and Gran Torino, eh, it was okay. We saw Man on Fire. I think I liked it more. We both thought The Terminal was long. She liked Sleeping with the Enemy and Pretty Woman. Fried Geen Tomato's. We say Ray and the Kill Bill series. We both really liked it. She saw Butterfly Effect. She thought it was okay. We saw Christmas with the Kranks. We laughed hard. She loves the Vacation series. The original, European, Vegas and Christmas.


We love Wedding Crashers. She likes Mr. And Mrs. Smith.

She loves Private Parts and loves when Howard Stern was playing a record in college and messed everything up and said " owwwwwww" she laughed so hard. And she always mimic the line," I quit. I think I quit. "

We went to see Fun with Dick and Jane. We laughed so hard and loved it.

Flight Plan was ok. She liked it.

She liked Crash and Get Shorty.

She really like the Departed.She likes Pump up the Volume and Interview with the Vampire. Bram Stroker’s Dracula.

She loves, loves loves Grumpy Old Men and the sequel Grumpier Old Men.

She turned me on to Dumb and Dumber!

We liked Major League.

She thought Legends of the Fall was okay.

She likes Liar Liar.

She thought Truman was too long.

Contact was okay but thought it was lame the alien was Jodi Fosters dad.

She likes Cop Land amd old Bad Boys with Sean Penn.

Of course she loves Ferris Buellers Day Off. "What country do you think this is?"

Dirty Dancing (what girl doesn't) she loves Planes, Trains and Automobiles, loves it and just loves Uncle Buck and The Great Outdoors.

I never saw it but she loves the Princess Bride.

She enjoyed Big. Beaches. A real rear jerker.

She likes Flatliners. I never saw it to this day.

Point Break.

She likes Wayne's World!

She had to watch The Distinguished Gentleman in her college class. She likes Mrs. Doubtfire and she liked that a lot. She watched Why Did I Get Married on DVD. She didn’t like Guarding Tess.

She really likes the movie Heat. The Brady Bunch Movie. She thought Ransom and Jerry McGwire was okay. We watched Dantea's Peak and Volcano together. Mouse Hunt on VHS as well. We watched Patch Adams and thought the lead girl was a Julia Roberts knock off. She really likes Enemy of the State. We saw Pleasantville on VHS. Which I didn't like. The facility. We saw the Talented Mr. Ripley. She really liked it. Me, not so much. We saw the Bone Collector. She thought Never Been Kissed was cute. She liked Fight Club and Thought Forces of Nature was okay.

We loved Napoleon Dynamite!! "I want that".

She likes My Cousin Vinny.

We love Weird Science! "whatchu talkin on the telephone man of course we know there's a telephone"

We love Funny Farm.

OFFICE SPACE!! She loves it! "looks like someone has a case of the Mondays."

I could write more movies here but the list seems never ending. Believe it or not I can remember incidents with every movie that includes Mimie like a song that reminds you of days gone past. If you read this and just breezed through I hope you smiled at a few that reminded you of your great times with a friend or loved one ore even when you were alone and needed a good laugh or cry.
